WHEN TO EXPECT THE FISH
The table immediately below identifies the months when the indicated species may be expected to be available. Those periods shaded in the darker color are the prime fishing months. During those
periods marked in the lighter color, the indicated fish can be and are taken, however, it is not the prime period in which to do so.
At YAN KEE WAY, we have an advantage in the opening dates for the fishing season in Chile. Normally, November is the opening date for all freshwater fishing in Chile. Due to the large resident salmon
population which has established itself in Lago Llanquihue, the season for all trout and salmon species here begins in the month of September, two months in advance of the country-wide freshwater opening dates.
Country-wide in Chile, the saltwater fishing season is open year-round, including the ability to fish in estuaries.
