Our Policies to Maintain the Quality of Your Fishing

Fly-fishing expedition packages are offered on a double occupancy basis. At each lodge, fly-fishing guests are limited to a maximum of 8 persons. While providing you with more solitude, this policy also assures less fishing pressure on our trout and salmon populations. We practice a catch and release fishery including the use of barbless hooks. For those fishing migratory salmon runs or for the resident salmon in our lakes, we allow taking of salmon for your consumption while you’re our guest.

These policies assist in assuring that all of us will have, now and in the future, the ability to catch the Big Ones. We believe so strongly in the need to preserve the quality of our fishing resource that we privately fund and staff special patrols, both in and out of season, on our rivers and lakes to assure that fishing regulations are followed. In addition, several of our employees have been licensed as Fish Wardens with full powers of enforcing Chilean fishing regulations.

Fly-Fishing Expedition Packages

Fly-fishing expeditions are offered in 4 day / 3 night, 5 day / 4 night and 8 day / 7 night packages or combinations thereof. The 8 day package provides you with an in-depth focus at one of our three lodge locations. A 12 to 14 day package provides you with fishing at two of our lodges. Some guests, who have the time, utilize three 8 day packages and fish for a full week at each location. An example summary of daily activities for 8 and 12 day packages is shown below. What is Included in My Fly-Fishing Expedition Package?

At Yan Kee Way, from the time you arrive at the Airport, until your departure flight home from there, all costs of food, lodging, ground, air transfers and, of course, guides and boats are included in your expedition package. Alcoholic beverages, other than complementary house wine with your meal, phone calls and faxes, while available, are at your expense and tips for guides and personnel are not included. House wine and complimentary cocktails are included in the El Patagon package.

Package rates are based on double occupancy with a personal fly-fishing guide for each 2 guests. Yan Kee Way guests will arrive at El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt. El Patagon guests will arrive at the ChaiténAirport in Chaiten or La Junta air strip in La Junta. Our staff will meet El Patagon guests in the El Tepual airport in Puerto Montt to assist in making their connections to Chaiten & La Junta. For those El Patagon guests who have chosen to charter the last leg to El Patagon our staff will assist in making those arrangements.

Our fly fishing expedition package rate for eight days is $4,250, El Patagon Peak Season pricing is $5000 per person from January 1 to March 17. Fishing licenses are NOT included. Please see Terms and Conditions applicable to these packages.

Single Day Fishing Expeditions

Dependent on our reservations for the season, there may be days available at one or more of our lodges, when our guides are available to guide our lodge guests on a Day Expedition basis. These Day Expeditions include the guide, ground transportation to and from the fishing location, boats and a lunch on the fishing grounds ONLY. Please note that lodging, meals, and other features of our Expedition Packages ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THESE SINGLE DAY EXPEDITIONS.

Transfers from YAN KEE WAY by air and/or ground to EL PATAGON Lodges are at the guest’s additional expense. Given limited air transportation schedules and the high seasonal demand for limited airline seats, combined with our bookings of Fishing Expedition Packages, we cannot reserve Day Expeditions on other than a day to day basis. Day Expeditions include no lodging or meals other than your lunch.

In the event you desire to fish, and our guides are otherwise unavailable for the dates you require, we will make every effort to assist you in contacting and booking a local, independent fly-fishing guide to provide you with the fishing experience you desire.

Our Single Day Fishing Expedition Rate is $389 U.S. Dollars per person for a party of two. Please review the Terms and Conditions applicable to these packages.
