Departure from Yan Kee Way Lodge to the slopes of Calbuco Volcano.
Calbuco is the large volcanic cone that is visible from the entryway of our Latitude 42º restaurant. It can be seen, looking south, in its entirety from the beachfront at our lodge. After a short trip by vehicle we will arrive at the departure point for our expedition. Our trek will take place within the Llanquihue National Reserve.
Our day will be filled with a trek through a dense forest as we ascend the slopes of the volcano. This ancient, primeval forest is so dense, at times one can not see the sky.
As we travel upwards, we may see and hear many different varieties of local birds. The air is fresh and pure and we will encounter the many small streams that bring water down from the melting snow and glaciers.
This trek provides many beautiful views of the area surrounding Yan Kee Way lodge. Back to Yan Kee Way Lodge. Special nature trek to enjoy alone or with family.
